TRP_2265.png

With over 14 years professional experience in TV, film, fashion, photography
and theatre, Hyewon is an international figure in make-up, body painting, wig
design and special effects.

Although deservedly proud of the work she has done in Europe, Asia, the
Middle East and now Los Angeles, one of the highlights of her career to date
has been the recent presentation of her work to the President of Korea on live
TV, in a show spotlighting work done by Korea’s leading make-up artists.

Although deservedly proud of the work she has done in Europe, Asia and
the Middle East, one of the highlights of her career to date has been the
recent presentation of her work to the President of Korea on live TV, in
a show spotlighting work done by Korea’s leading make-up artists.

Hyewon began her make-up career in 2001 with the KBS Broadcast Network
and at the Opera House in South Korea. After moving to the UK to study at the
London College of Fashion, she graduated with a BA in Costume, Technical
Effects & Make-up for the Performing Arts. Awarded a finalist place in the 2007
BBC Vision Design Competition for Make-up, she went on to become the 2012
World Champion at the International Body Painting Festival in Asia.

Employed from 2007 to 2015 at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in
London, Hyewon became used to a fast-paced, real-time work environment,
with tight deadlines, high expectations and always the possibility of the
unexpected. She has worked on principal artists, choruses and actors in over
90 opera productions doing make-up, wig dressing, special effects and body
painting, all of which were appropriate to the character, period, culture and
nationality of the production. Other work in London has included supervising a
production of `Cabaret’for the Savoy Theatre and ‘A Chorus Line’for the
London Palladium in the West End.

Hyewon is truly a leader and innovator in her field. Her application procedures
are especially detailed, inspired by the special techniques she learned while
working at Madame Tussauds in London, where a wig can take up to five
weeks to create. This lengthy process includes placing three strands of human
hair in follicle , inserted in the direction of hair growth. Eyelashes, eyebrows
and any body hair needed are also inserted and matched to human skin,
building up layers of tint and shade until a realistic skin colour and texture are
achieved. Hyewon has worked on several celebrity models, including Kate
Winslet, Lady Gaga, Queen Elizabeth II, Elvis Presley and David Beckham.

Hyewon’s teaching credits include Master Cla sses for the Royal Opera House
in London and Kryolan Charles Fox in Germany, Dubai, Korea and the UK.
Since 2012 she has been engaged on a regular basis to teach Body Painting,
Special Effects, Air Brush Make-up and Theatrical Make-up at Suwon
University, SBS Broadcast Academy and the Korean Make-up Artist
Association, as well as the London College of Fashion , Ealing Studios and the
Delemar Academy in London.

A passionate and dedicated professional, Hyewon has maintained a high
editorial profile working with clients that include Madame Tussauds, Ealing
Studios, the BBC, ITV, Channel Five Productions, Warner Bros, Momentum
Pictures, Samsung, Tatler, Vogue, the Guardian, Ray-Ban, Christian Dior,
Cartier, Alice Temperley, Michael Clark and Vivienne Westwood.
